  2. This article features the Beats by Dr. Dre add I asked about in class, and it explores responses to the add and the post-game interview being a part of an elaborate PR stunt.

I wish I could figure out hyperlinking in comments.

I find it hilarious that the commercial and the interview are being called a 'stunt.' The only other sports star critiqued under publicity allegations within that self-same article was Kevin Garnett, also a black athlete. Funnily enough, of the few columnist's that I read who advocate the association between the interview and the commercial as purposeful, all of them are white. Viewing the correlation between real life reactions to black assertiveness and publicity ploys is another item belonging on McIntosh's list. If a white sports player had acted the same, and also was featured in a commercial, would it have been considered a ploy? How about if it was a woman? How about if it was a woman of racial minority?
